Master of Science (Computer Applications)
Overview
MSc in Computer Applications is the perfect blend of Technology implementation, application design, Innovation, Security, Entrepreneurship, and Ethics for the development of global citizens.
Experiential learning is a crucial component of the MSc (CA) syllabus here at SICSR. Students create a variety of pilot projects to test their theoretical topic understanding. Pedagogical methods such as case studies, role-plays, quizzes, and flip classrooms are used by our faculty members.. In addition, students are strongly encouraged to use the different learning avenues via MOOCs.
We conduct hackathons, and other co-curricular events to develop students’ leadership skills. In addition, there are various clubs within the institute where students may organise and participate in creative activities. Graduates will be qualified for roles such as Software Developer, Business Manager Development, Software Quality Analyst, Data Scientist, Software Developer, Software Engineer, Software Validation Engineer, Software Test Engineer, Software Configuration Manager and many more.
Objectives
OBJECTIVES | This programme will equip students with knowledge highly relevant to emerging technologies. This programme aims to provide a comprehensive framework for understanding by integrating theoretical foundations with extensive practical work in the labs and hands-on experience.

PROGRAMME PATTERN | Semester Pattern – 4 Semesters |
ASSESSMENT | All internal courses will have 100% component as internal evaluation at the institute level. All external courses will have 60% internal component and 40% component as external () examination. |
STANDARD OF PASSING | The assessment of the student for each examination is done, based on relative performance. Maximum Grade Point (GP) is 10 corresponding to O (Outstanding). For all courses, a student is required to pass both internal and external examination separately with a minimum Grade Point of 4 corresponding to Grade P. Students securing less than 40% absolute marks in each head of passing will be declared FAIL. The awards a degree to the student who has achieved a minimum CGPA of 4 out of maximum of 10 CGPA for the programme |
AWARD OF DEGREE | Master of (Computer Applications) M.Sc. (CA) will be awarded at the end of semester IV examination by taking into consideration the performance of all semester examinations after obtaining minimum 4.00 CGPA out of 10.00 CGPA. |
Minimum number of students should be 15 to opt for any specialisation and final decision, if number of students is less than 15, will be taken by the institute.

Orientation and Pedagogy
The MSc Computer Applications and MSc System Security are the master level programme offered to graduated students at Symbiosis institute of computer studies and research, Pune, India. They are the perfect blend of Technology implementation, application design, Innovation, Security, Entrepreneurship, and Ethics for development of global citizens.
The teaching/learning pedagogy followed for the curriculum delivery, is to provide students best of both face to face and online teaching by implementing blended learning methods and flipped classroom. This leads to a holistic and all-rounded learning experience for the master level students.
There is a balance of theoretical and practical courses with various specializations as per the contemporary demands in industry and research domain. This is achieved by having strong industry connect and guest lectures, projects, research paper and providing other such platforms. Experiential learning is an imperative aspect of overall teaching/learning process.
Students are encouraged to conduct dissertation, project, research activities for getting the hands-on experiences in relation to the concepts taught in the class. Industrial visits are conducted, which leads to the improved understanding of the practical implications. Case studies are an integral part of the teaching pedagogy across the courses. Also students are significantly encouraged to learn from MOOCs using various platform made available.
Students are indulged in organizing surveys, quizzes, hackathons, and other co-curricular activities to develop and nurture leadership qualities. Various clubs are functional at the institute where students can organize and participate in creative activities.

# ONLY Foreign National Students taking Admission in the year 2023 for the Batch 2023-2025, will be eligible for the Symbiosis Golden Jubilee Scholarships. Designed to celebrate 50 glorious years of Symbiosis being established to offer quality education to foreign national students, these include:
(1) 100 Full Symbiosis Golden Jubilee Academic Scholarships with need-based reduced hostel fees for foreign national students from developing African- Asian countries.
(2) 100 Golden Jubilee Free-ships for academically and financially deserving foreign national students from conflict ridden/war affected regions by giving them an opportunity to study at SIU by covering not only the cost of all academic fees but also the hostel and mess/food fees (lodging and boarding).
(3) Concessional Hostel fees are applicable to Foreign National students @ 650$ per annum.
(4) Concessional Mess fees are applicable to Foreign National students @50% as mentioned above.
* *Hostel and Mess Fees for the subsequent year would be communicated before commencement of the next academic year. @Hostel and Mess Fees can be increased up to 10% each year.
