Overview
The BCA programme is oriented toward building a brilliant career for Information Technology professionals. The programme is focused on building application based skills which include the creative and logical thinking skills. SICSR provides professionals seeking a smart career in the IT area with an evaluation that meets international requirements. This degree equips students with the skills to evaluate, design, and develop software systems. Students will eventually comprehend logic development ideas and industry best software practices.
Objectives
BCA offers the prequalification for professionals heading for smart career in the IT field, which measures up to international standards. On completing this course one can do higher studies such as MCA, MBA etc., in any UGC recognized universities or in any other reputed institution in India or abroad.BCA (Honours) with specialization will prepare students to progress their career in the software industry, academia, research, entrepreneurial pursuit and other Information technology enabled services in one of the areas in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, and Data security.

ASSESSMENT |
All internal courses will have 100% component as internal evaluation at the institute level. All external courses will have 40% internal component and 60% external component [University] examination. |
STANDARD OF PASSING |
The assessment of the student for each examination is done, based on relative performance. Maximum Grade Point (GP) is 10 corresponding to O (Outstanding). For all courses, a student is required to pass both internal and external examination separately with a minimum Grade Point of 4 corresponding to Grade P. Students securing less than 40% absolute marks in each head of passing will be declared FAIL. The University awards a degree to the student who has achieved a minimum CGPA of 4 out of maximum of 10 CGPA for the programme. |
AWARD OF DEGREE |
Certificate in Computer Applications will be awarded at the end of the semester 2 by taking into consideration the performance of all semester examinations after obtaining minimum 4.00 CGPA out of 10 CGPA and the successful completion of the 4 credit Vocational Course in the summer,
Diploma in Computer Applications yviII be awarded at the end of the semester 4 by taking into consideration the performance of all semester examinations after obtaining minimum 4.00 CGPA out of 10 CGPA and the successful comp(etion of the 4 credit Vocational Course in the summer.
Bachelor of Computer Applications with the applicable major and applicable minor will be awarded at the end of the semester 6 examination by taking into consideration the performance of all semester examinations after obtaining minimum 4.00 CGPA out of 10 CGPA.
Bachelor of Computer Applications Honours with the applicable major and applicable minor will be awarded at the end of the semester 8 examination by taking into consideration the performance of all semester examinations after obtaining minimum 4.00 CGPA out of 10 CGPA
Bachelor of Computer Applications Honours with Research with the applicable major and applicable minor will be awarded at the end of the semester 8 examination by taking into consideration the performance of all semester examinations after obtaining minimum 4.00 CGPA out of 10 CGPA. |
Minimum number of students should be 15 to opt for any specialisation and final decision, if number of students is less than 15, will be taken by the institute.

Orientation and Pedagogy
The BCA program is oriented towards building a smart career in the Information Technology professionals. The program is focused on the computer application which required the skill set of creative, logical thinking of a given problem. The students are always ready to learn new technology.
To develop techno-management skills, SICSR conducting various workshops and seminars on current technology. The practical and theoretical aspects of the different specializations are provided with industry through various guest lectures, projects, and conclaves.
Experiential learning is an integral part of the teaching process. The different pilot projects are developed by the students for exploring theoretical subject knowledge. The case study, role play, quiz, flip-class room, etc. pedagogy is considered while teaching the subject. Students are significantly encouraged to learn from MOOCs using various platforms made available.
College also participates in community services that are conducted by professional bodies like IEEE, ACM. The different national and international events like coding, hackathon, research, etc. are conducted for developing the problem-solving skills of the students. The different events are organized by the college to nurture student management skills. Various clubs are functional at the institute where students can organize and participate in creative activities.

ELIGIBILITY |
Passed Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent government approved Diploma in Engineering/ Technology from any recognised Board with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).
Students who wish to opt for Honours with Research must earn 7.5 CGPA and above at the end of Semester-6
